Aircalin Office Design Makeover

Before the makeover

Aircalin is a silver service airline carrier, yet their Sydney offices did not reflect this.

This space was not conducive to productivity and staff morale, no storage for any marketing collateral and generally a dumping ground for the entire office.

The office created no sense of entry and as a visitor my first impression was one of invading someone’s personal space.

After the makeover

The brief was to create a modern island feel with no huts allowed

The custom designed reception desk represents an island with the Lucere product on the front representing a wave or shape of the aeroplane wing.
The blue chiffon fabric encased in the lucere is the water surrounding the islands.

The new reception area was inviting, spacious and suggested an island feel without a hut in site.
The pops of orange added a sense of life to the space as well as cemented the logo colours.

As space was limited a small glass table was used for meetings with the chairs being covered in a fabric that matches the colours in the company’s logo.

The new offices utilized the natural light and existing furniture.
The canvas’ showcasing New Caledonia were made from images supplied by the New Caledonian government.

The two managers offices were created to feel open and spacious yet at the same time allow privacy for confidential meetings.

As the strata management would not allow signage in any of the passageways from the lift it was imperative that customers could easily identify the location of the offices.
The location of the signage definitely ensures this occurs.
The signage is on a translucent Perspex, and hung in front of window to allow the natural light to fill the
office as well as add to the island feel.
