Designing spaces that support how people feel, connect, and live
Our homes play a far greater role in our lives than we often realise. They shape how we feel when we wake up, how we move through our day, how we connect with others, and how supported , or unsupported, we feel in everyday life.
I deliver residential and lifestyle keynotes that help people see their homes through a new lens, not just as places to live, but as environments that actively influence wellbeing, behaviour, and connection.
The Core Idea
Our homes are not neutral. They quietly shape our habits, emotions, relationships, and sense of wellbeing every day. When a home works with us, life feels easier, calmer, and more connected. When it works against us, stress, friction, and fatigue often creep in without us understanding why.
What I Speak About
This keynote invites audiences to rethink the role of the home , moving beyond "a beautiful space" toward one that genuinely supports how people live.
I explore how human-centred design principles influence daily life at home, including:
- How layout and flow affect stress, ease, and movement
- Why storage, functionality, and space planning matter more than we think
- How light, nature, and sensory balance influence mood and energy
- The role of shared spaces in connection and relationships
- Why beauty and function must work together — not in isolation
Using relatable examples and real residential projects, I help audiences understand how small, thoughtful design decisions can make a meaningful difference to everyday life.
This is not about trends or perfection. It’s about creating homes that support real people, living real lives.
What Makes This Keynote Different
My approach is grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience. As a fully qualified interior designer, I’ve spent decades designing homes that balance beauty and function.
My background in design education shapes how I communicate — allowing me to translate complex design principles into insights that are accessible, practical, and empowering.
Alongside this professional experience, I have firsthand, lived insight into the realities of navigating homes with people who have disabilities.
I understand, personally and professionally, the impact that impractical layouts, poor circulation, and inaccessible design have on daily life for those using wheelchairs or walkers, as well as for individuals with neurodiverse needs.
This lived experience has deeply informed my belief that interior design is a necessity, not a luxury. The way a home is designed can either support dignity, independence, wellbeing, and connection or quietly create stress, frustration, and exclusion.
This keynote is not about aspiration or perfection. It is about awareness, helping people understand how thoughtful, human-centred design can create homes that work for real people, across all stages of life and ability.

Experience & Recognition
My work as a keynote speaker and interior designer is driven by a clear belief: “Interior design is a necessity, not a luxury.”
The spaces we inhabit shape how we feel, function, and connect, and everyone deserves environments that genuinely support them. I'm a regular presenter, guest speaker, and industry contributor, with experience speaking to a wide range of professional, business, and public audiences.
I have presented at major industry and lifestyle events including the:
- Sydney Home Show
- Renovate & Build Expo
- Hills Home Show & Lifestyle Expo
- HIA Expo, where I have appeared as an industry expert
Alongside live events, I’m a regular guest speaker on podcasts, contributing to conversations around human-centred design, wellbeing, business, and the impact of the physical environment on everyday life.
Education and mentorship are central to my work. I also regularly speak to councils, Rotary groups, retirement living communities, and emerging designers through TAFE NSW, including sessions at Nepean Design Centre.
Beyond public speaking, I am deeply committed to mentoring and giving back to the design community. I have mentored designers across a range of disciplines through Designer Chicks, a group that I and another colleague set up 15 years ago. This work is offered on a pro bono basis as a way of giving back to an industry I care deeply about and supporting designers who want to create meaningful, people-centred work.
My commitment to purposeful, human-centred design has been recognised nationally and locally through multiple awards, including the Australian Women's Small Business Champion Awards, where I was named Winner, Home Builder & Renovations for three consecutive years. I have also been a finalist in multiple national Australian business awards, a winner and finalist in numerous local business awards, and recognised across a range of industry and design award programs.
I am a professional member of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA), and an accredited Bathroom and Kitchen Designer.
