Currently, we’re working on the refurbishment of the common areas of an apartment block in Rockdale, close to Sydney’s Botany Bay.
Design brief for entry foyer
The body corporate asked us to come up with 3 different conceptual ideas for the entry foyer of the 9 storey building. Brief is to keep the existing floor tiles while looking for alternative wall treatments that are robust enough to withstand accidental hits that occur when residents move their furniture in or out.
Different wall finishes for entry foyer
Have a look at our photoshopped pictures how different wall treatments change the atmosphere of a space.
Design option ‘Geometrics’
The hexagon tiles on the rear wall become the focal point of this entry foyer. In combination with the figurine wallpaper on the left, the space looks more vibrant and lively.
Design Option ‘Classic Luxury’
Elegant and sophisticated is this combination of a dark metallic wall tile with a textured vinyl wallpaper in a bronze colour.
Design Option ‘Organic Teal’
With a noise dampening backing in a light teal, the metallic screens add texture to the entry foyer while improving its acoustics. Combined with the teal paint the space looks fresh and young.

By the way: the body corporate who was recently presented with those concepts went for the ‘Classic Luxury’ look, asking us to explore this option further. So stay tuned on how this project will progress.

I love the ‘Classic Luxury’ option Robyn. Elegant and smart. Nice work!
